Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based machine to build strength, improve mobility, and support proper alignment. Classes are low-impact but highly effective, and suitable for all fitness levels.

Barre is a ballet-inspired workout blended with Pilates principles. Expect an upbeat, flowing class that targets strength, balance, and endurance, with a serious burn.

Not at all. Our instructors offer clear guidance, modifications, and support throughout class. If you have injuries, are pregnant/post-natal, or have specific concerns, let your instructor know before class.

What to Expect in Your First Class at KAVA
Walking into a new studio can feel intimidating, we’ve got you. Here’s exactly what to expect when you arrive for your first class at KAVA Pilates.
Before You Arrive
Please arrive 5- 10 minutes early to allow time to check in and get settled
Let your instructor know it’s your first class (and about any injuries, pregnancy, or concerns)
Wear comfortable, form-fitting activewear and grip socks
When You Arrive
Our instructor will welcome you and help set you up on your mat or reformer
You’ll be shown how the equipment works and how to adjust it safely
No need to worry if you feel unsure, questions are always encouraged
During Class
Classes are guided, structured, and supportive
Instructors demonstrate and cue exercises clearly, offering modifications and progressions
Expect a focus on breath, control, strength, and alignment
Classes are low-intensity but high-impact, challenging and effective
You’re never expected to “keep up”, move at your own pace and take breaks whenever needed.
After Class
Expect to feel strong, worked, and refreshed
Light muscle soreness is normal, especially after your first few classes
Your instructor is happy to answer questions or recommend your next class
